Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The African Games scheduled to take place in Ghana in August has been postponed until next year after a deal between major stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Organizers said the agreement was signed by stakeholders, including the African Union, the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa and the Association of African Sports Confederations.<\/p>\n

“The stakeholders have since signed a Negotiated Agreement on the Management and Organization of the African Games, marking a significant milestone in the planning of the 13th games,” they said.<\/p>\n

They added that the Local Organizing Committee, in collaboration with all stakeholders, would be conducting a series of consultations from Thursday to Monday to schedule a new date and set timelines.<\/p>\n

The event was previously scheduled for Ghana’s capital, Accra, from Aug. 4 – 19.<\/p>\n
