Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>More than half of the workforce at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital are youth aged 35 years and below, MPs have heard. The National Assembly\u2019s Committee on National Cohesion and Equal Opportunity was on Tuesday told that 879 of the total 1,404 members of staff (62.61 per cent) are aged between 21-35 years.<\/p>\n

KUTRH CEO Ahmed Dagane made the presentation to the committee saying overall, the hospital has a youthful staff with 91 per cent being under the age of 45 years.<\/p>\n

Dagane said 401 employees are between 36-45 (28.56 per cent) while 99 (7.07 per cent) are aged between 46-55 years with 25 (1.78 per cent) being above 56 years. The CEO further revealed that more than half of the staff at the facility are female.<\/p>\n

\u201cKUTRRH has recruited a total of 788 female employees and 616 male employees as of 31 December 2022. This is a representation of 56 per cent of female employees and 44 per cent of male employees,\u201d he said. Members of the committee hailed the facility for giving women the opportunity to work at the hospital.<\/p>\n

Dagane said KUTRRH is an equal opportunity employer and that in all recruitments and selection process, there shall be no discrimination on the basis of gender, race, religion, ethnicity or any other form of discrimination.<\/p>\n

He assured that they will observe the Constitution and alongside policies issued by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission. He added that KUTRRH places all available vacancies in \u201cmyGov\u201d pullout circulated in local dailies so as to reach out to a wider audience.<\/p>\n

KUTRRH is a leading National Referral Hospital with a 650-bed capacity It is a State corporation established under legal notice No.4 of 25 January 2019 as a Level 6 National Referral Hospital.<\/p>\n
