Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has urged the opposition to engage in dialogue instead of confrontation. Speaking on Sunday, Sakaja said that no solution can be made out of chest-thumping.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of this cannot be accomplished through chest-thumping; even the Bible says, \u2018Let us come together and reason,\u2019 though this does not imply to a handshake,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Sakaja said the city’s order and dignity is peaceful and he will not allow any disruption to a city that is home to over four million residents. \u201cEverything has its time. Kenyans are tired of politics, voting was already done, and the winner is in place,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The governor said people were undergoing hard economic times and needed no additional problems. \u201cI will not allow anybody\u2019s property, business, or life in Nairobi to be destroyed. Many people are going through difficult times, and we cannot allow that to worsen,\u201d Sakaja said.<\/p>\n

Opposition chief Raila Odinga will this week lead more anti-government rallies across four counties. According to a plan released by ODM communication director Philip Etale on Sunday, the anti-Kenya Kwanza government rallies will start upon the expiry of the Wednesday deadline.<\/p>\n

Raila on February 22, gave the Ruto administration a 14-day ultimatum to address his concerns about the high cost of living, electoral injustice, and skewed sharing of state jobs, of which the deadline is on Wednesday, March 8. Raila had asked his supporters to stand firm as upon the expiry, street protests will begin.<\/p>\n
