AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> Majority Leader in Busia County Assembly has been kicked out after being accused of being too busy to defend interests of the ward representatives and his ODM party.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Ford Kenya allied Members of County Assembly and officials in have vowed that their colleagues who openly supported the attempt to ouster Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang\u2019ula as Party Leader must be expelled.<\/p>\n

Laban Mukhwana who was picked to be majority leader in 2017 said he now wants to concentrate developing his Bukhayo East Ward.Majority Whip Erick Kaibe of Kingandole Ward said Mr Mukhwana failed to act as a good link between the Executive arm of county government and MCAs despite being the Majority Leader since 2017.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have had to make some changes for things to move because he (Mukhwana) has been too busy with his personal matters at the expense of the work we gave him as majority leader,\u201d said Kaibe.<\/p>\n

Mukhwana said, \u201cI want to concertrate my effort in serving Bukhayo East people who elected me.\u201dElsewhere, Ford Kenya chairman in Busia Emmanuel Osore, Deputy Leader of Majority Moses Ochieng of Burumba Ward and Fred Musirimba (Bunyala North) are initiating the process of disciplining nominated members who backed the ouster of Wetang\u2019ula.At media brief on Thursday Ochieng said they will not condone indiscipline and disloyal members in their Ford Kenya party.<\/p>\n

One of the Ford Kenya nominated MCAs appeared on social media congratulating Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi for being elected as new Ford Kenya Party Leader.<\/p>\n

This did not go down well with Wetang\u2019ula\u2019s loyal members. \u201cAnybody who supported the attempted removal of our Party Leader will not be spared,\u201d said Ochieng.Mr Osore said it was now time to scrutinise membership of the party. According to Osore, last week\u2019s incident should serve as a wakeup call to Mr Wetang\u2019ula.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is unfortunate that people we trusted and gave powers to be the custodian of the party can end up staging a coup against a bona fide Party Leader,\u201d said Osore.His sentiment was backed by Mr Musirimba who noted that effort to take the party through back door means will not succeed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
