Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Azimio will continue holding town hall engagements even as the parliamentary bipartisan talks continue.<\/p>\n

Azimio leader Raila Odinga on Thursday said the meetings are aimed at sensitising their supporters and the general public about their grievances.<\/p>\n

“We will continue our engagements with our people through town hall meetings and other avenues to continue educating our people on the issues even as our delegates engage in the talks,” Raila said.<\/p>\n

He ruled out efforts to strike a power-sharing deal with the Kenya Kwanza regime saying talks will strictly centre on the four key issues they have raised.<\/p>\n

They include reduction of cost of living and prices of basic commodities such as fuel, unga, electricity and school fees.<\/p>\n

Other issues are the reconstitution of the IEBC, a forensic audit of the 2022 presidential election results, and an end to interference with the management and operation of political parties by way of incorporating them into government to weaken the opposition.<\/p>\n

Raila gave the clearest indication that they will resume mass demonstrations should the Kenya Kwanza side attempt dirty tricks during the talks.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Azimio called off their demonstrations slated for Thursday after Kenya Kwanza removed Eldas MP Adan Keynan from their bipartisan talks team.<\/p>\n

“As we said yesterday, we shall not hesitate to resort to alternative measures at the slightest indication of lack of goodwill and honesty on Kenya Kwanza side,” Raila said.<\/p>\n

“If, through intransigence, delaying tactics and other aspects of stonewalling Kenya Kwanza forces us to abandon the talks, there shall be no turning back. Kenya Kwanza must get us clear on this,”<\/p>\n
