Kindiki removed the two officers to facilitate investigations and ensure efficiency in security operations in the area.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) for Igembe North Sub-County and the Officer-in-Charge of the of the General Service Unit (GSU)command in the area have been removed,&#8221; the CS said.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Kindiki said the changes are to be implemented immediately. This comes after he held a security Baraza with residents from Igembe North Constituency at Ndoleli Chief\u2019s Camp, getting recommendations from them on the security of the area.<\/p>\n<p>To heighten security in the area, Kindiki said two more police posts will be established along the Meru-Isiolo border. This is after he got a request from residents to procure a police vehicle and upgrade of one of the police posts to a police station.<\/p>\n<p>He said the government is currently processing their request. The CS said the ministry has upscaled intelligence-led security surveillance in the area.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To this end, the county and subcounty Security and Intelligence teams have intensified their surveillance to ensure there will be no recurrence of cattle rustling activities in the area,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the CS said logistics for establishing an Anti-Stock Theft Police Unit (ASTU) facility at Loloro are now complete. He said the camp will be operational from Wednesday, May 10, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Kindiki also gave an update on the investigations of the brutal killing of the immediate former area MCA George Kaliunga.
