AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> Elders in Vihiga County have accused Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang\u2019ula of failing to solve their problems amicably but instead blaming ODM leader Raila Odinga for their woes.<\/p>\n

Led by former Makadara MP Fred Omido, the elders noted any leader who will underlook their in-house wrangles and resort\u00a0to blaming others will not survive the wave of change sweeping over the country.\u201cPeople have been blaming Raila and COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli for what has been happening in their parties.<\/p>\n

They were elected by their people to set the agenda for their parties, and if this role has defeated them, they should resign,\u201d Omido said.While addressing journalists at Mbale, Omido noted there is no day Raila has gone into public blaming other parties like ANC, Ford Kenya or Wiper for attacking ODM.<\/p>\n

\u201cRaila is leading his party which is on the forefront and advocating for a peaceful co-existence in the country while calling for unity of purpose everywhere. This is the politics that we want, which aims at unity, equality and bringing development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Zebedy Osabwa noted even if all Luhyas unite and speak in one voice, they cannot be able to produce a president of their own, and therefore the need for tolerance to other tribes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have never heard Raila calling on Luos to come together and unite to get the presidency. He calls on all Kenyans to rally behind him and that is why he united with President Uhuru,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Omido added, \u201cWe have seen people fighting the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, and we wonder whether these people want the country to revert to the days of more animosity between tribes, or want to forge into a peaceful one.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the efforts by Mr Atwoli in fronting Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa to represent the interests of Western Region in the government was the right move and should be supported.<\/p>\n

Omido, who is also the chairperson of Vihiga Council of Elders, noted he was speaking as an elder and not representing the views of other elders in the council.This comes after ANC leader Musalia and Bungome legislator Wetang\u2019ula trained their guns on the ODM boss accusing him of fanning division in Ford Kenya party.<\/p>\n

Musalia in specific claimed that Mr Odinga and Mr Atwoli had conspired to remove Wetang\u00fala from the summit of one of Kenya\u2019s oldest party.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
