Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>National Assembly majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah has assured President William Ruto of parliament’s support in the fight against corruption in government. Ichung’wah said as members of parliament, they will stand by his side and offer the necessary oversight over public funds.<\/p>\n

“Mr President we want to assure you that we are behind you in this fight against corruption. Thank you for showing in action, not by words, that you mean business in protecting the resource of this nation,” he said.<\/p>\n

He lauded him for his bold step to crack the whip on individuals suspected to be behind the Kemsa scandal. The legislator was speaking in Kandara in Murang’a during the funeral of Dagoreti south MP John Kiarie’s father.<\/p>\n

Ruto was among the leaders who attended the ceremony. He encouraged him to continue dealing harshly with corrupt individuals saying he should not be derailed by anything. On the financial bill 2023, Ichung’wah claimed those opposed to it are doing so because of propaganda.<\/p>\n

“The element of people being sceptical that if you put money in a fund It will not be put to good use because of corruption has caused some people to oppose the bill,” he said.<\/p>\n
