Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto has called for another parliamentary group meeting this week. The meeting to be held on Tuesday is the sixth since he assumed office with the last having been held on April 11 at Statehouse.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Isiolo, Ruto noted that part of the agenda to be discussed will be to plan development projects in various counties and ways of addressing unemployment in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are going to have a meeting with the legislators to plan on how we can set up ICT hubs in every ward in Kenya so that we can create digital jobs for our youth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Head of State said he has already agreed with the governors on having agricultural and industrial parks in each county as well as markets in each sub-county as part of the plan.<\/p>\n

Ruto is also set to use the meeting to implore the legislators to pass the finance bill, 2023 once it is presented in the House. The public had until May 20 to submit views on the bill before it is adopted.<\/p>\n

National Assembly’s departmental committee on finance and national planning will on Monday begin conducting public participation. While Opposition leaders have opposed the bill, their counterparts in the Kenya Kwanza have given strong indications of approving it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe bill will be passed as it is, without even amending a comma, so that government can be able to finance its budget,\u201d Nandi senator Samson Cherargei said.<\/p>\n

Cherargei said currently the country has a budget deficit of around Sh800 billion and if proper measures are not taken, the country will continue borrowing which is not sustainable.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe taxation that has been introduced is mostly on luxury objects, there are no new taxes that are being introduced that can harm a hustler, I have never seen a hustler wearing wigs or fake nails,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
