AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> Amani National Congress (ANC) MP Christopher Aseka has accused Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi of being used by external forces to dismantle the Musalia Mudavadi outfit.<\/p>\n

Aseka, who is Khwisero MP, called out on Osotsi for allegedly being sponsored by forces who direly want to discredit Mudavadi as the Luhya community kingpin.<\/p>\n

Osotsi on Tuesday had announced that Mudavadi’s term as ANC party leader expires on June 15 as he demanded that the party should conduct grassroots polls to elect new officials.Aseka reacting to Osotsi\u2019s statement said the former Secretary-General was acting unprocedurally by calling for grassroots election yet he is not a party official.<\/p>\n

Under ANC party constitution, Aseka said only party officials, in this case, the Secretary-General Barrack Muluka can demand what Osotsi want.\u201cOsotsi thinks he is the party SG yet he can\u2019t even call for the National Executive Council meeting let alone the demand change of party officials,\u201d said Aseka.<\/p>\n

Like other MPs allied to Mudavadi, Aseka has blamed the ODM party of planning ousters of ANC party officials.He alleged the Orange party and its leaders were up to dismantle the Luhya unity by targeting to dethrone the embattled Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang\u2019ula from Ford Kenya leadership and now Mudavadi.\u201c<\/p>\n

They are forces from the ODM party that really want all Luhya parties to fall and leave the community without a substantial leader,\u201d said Aseka.<\/p>\n

Lugari MP Ayub Savula on Monday said he was approached by some ODM members to dislodge Mudavadi from the helm of ANC.<\/p>\n

The lawmaker has challenged Odinga to relinquish the party leadership for a Luhya leader like Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya if he really wants the Luhya leaders to work together.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Raila has the interest of the Luhya Community at heart he should relinquish his party leadership position to one Oparanya and maybe we consider working with them again,\u201d said Aseka.ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna on Tuesday defended the Odinga-led party saying that they had no reason to stage a \u2018coup\u2019 against Mudavadi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
