Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Former presidential aspirant Reuben Kigame has warned President William Ruto that his unwillingness to forgive will lead to his downfall. In an open letter dated May 28, 2023, Kigame said revenging the wrongs done in the past will cost Ruto and his administration dearly.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis tit-for-tat, tooth-for-a-tooth and eye-for-an-eye attitude never works and is bound to leave the country both toothless and blind,\u201d Kigame noted.<\/p>\n

He added that as the father of the nation, he is bound to lead everyone in the right direction by helping those who are lost and not spreading hatred and animosity in the home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe position of president is like that of a father. As a father, at the end of the day, there is no good or bad child. It is about helping the bad children become good and ensuring that the home is livable,\u201d Kigame added.<\/p>\n

He also went ahead and criticized the president for not correcting his Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua when he equated government to ownership of shares in a company.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour deputy has said with a straight face that your government belongs to\u201d shareholders\u201d and that only those who voted for the two of you will have the preeminence and priority. You have not come out to correct this notion, thereby implying you agree with him,\u201d Kigame said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis attitude of revenge, favouritism and crony capitalism, coupled with your open ethnic appointments will not make you survive as a leader.<\/p>\n

\u201cTake it from me. Unless you change this, the nation called Kenya will spit you out as a leader. It has not worked in the past. It cannot work here. It will never work. It will bring you down unless you change.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition, he said that overtaxing Kenyans, the appointment of the 50 Chief Administrative Secretaries, implementation of housing fund levies and Ruto\u2019s obsession with implementing global policies and programmes, will also end his leadership.<\/p>\n
