{"id":94124,"date":"2023-06-02T19:11:59","date_gmt":"2023-06-02T19:11:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/i-will-fully-support-creative-economy-president-ruto"},"modified":"2023-06-02T19:34:06","modified_gmt":"2023-06-02T19:34:06","slug":"i-will-fully-support-creative-economy-president-ruto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/i-will-fully-support-creative-economy-president-ruto","title":{"rendered":"I will fully support creative economy \u2013 President Ruto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto has said his administration will fully support the creative economy.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the Kenya National Drama and Film Festival at State House, Nairobi, the President said his administration has initiated a programme under the Ministry of Sports, Arts, and Culture to grow the arts industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would want to see the arts grow so that they can also contribute productively to our growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ruto said the initiative is a flagship project that will revolutionise the way the government organises sports and the arts in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of State noted that the programme creates a continuum through which gifted youth secure dream careers after their studies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are lucky that we are implementing a curriculum that recognises performing arts such as music, dance, drama, and film as learning components.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The President noted that the move will see students leave secondary school armed with knowledge, both theory and skill, in the arts.<\/p>\n<p>He commended the students for the skills and talent exhibited during the performances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been educated on a lot of issues; some of the themes presented here touch the society to the core.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who was present said the Government will keep supporting the sector \u201cfor our country\u2019s sustained growth\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe monetisation of content will help us tame unemployment and increase earnings, especially to the youth,\u201d Gachagua said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\">Kenya<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya.
