Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Rwanda’s flag carrier RwandAir’s chief executive officer (CEO) became the first woman chairperson of the board of governors of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).<\/p>\n

The former chairman, Mehmet Tevfik Nane, CEO of the Turkish air carrier Pegasus, handed over duties to Yvonne Manzi Makolo on Monday, during the association’s annual general meeting in Istanbul.<\/p>\n

Makolo, who has been serving as a member of the board since November 2020, became the 81st chairperson of the IATA.<\/p>\n

Nane will continue to be a member of the board for a year.<\/p>\n
