Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Three players are doubtful for Kenya Morans’ friendly match against a Kenyan-based South Sudan team at Nyayo Stadium gymnasium on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The national team\u2019s assistant coach Collins Gaya said Faheem Juma, Eugene Adera and Dan Lubutse sustained injuries in training and will be assessed before the 5 pm clash.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey sustained injuries in training and we are keenly monitoring their progress. They have until match day before we can rule them out of the game completely,\u201d said Gaya.<\/p>\n

The national side started their non-residential training two weeks ago at the same venue ahead of the July 8-16 Fiba Africa AfroCan tournament in Luanda, Angola.<\/p>\n

The training, said the tactician, is going on well with the experienced lethal scorer Tylor Ongwae having joined the team on Thursday. The diaspora players are expected to join this weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven without the injured three, we should be able to line up a good side against the South Sudanese in this friendly match which will help sharpen the team,\u201d observed Gaya.<\/p>\n

South Sudanese team shooting guard Moses Alier, who turns out for Premier League side Umoja said they are ready and will give the national side a good game.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are ok. We are good to go and we promise to give them a good game in front of our fans. It will be show time,\u201d offered Alier.<\/p>\n

Morans played the first of their friendlies last Friday \u2014against a Streets League Combined side at Nairobi West \u2014 winning a 114-86 in a high-scoring encounter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started the first quarter poorly but did well to recover in the next three to win easy in the end. We picked up the weaknesses and we have worked on them during the week<\/p>\n

Kenya together with DR Congo, hosts Angola and Morocco qualified for the tournament by virtue of finishing in the top four positions at the inaugural show in 2019 in Bamako, Mali.<\/p>\n
