Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Thursday held talks with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) President Martin Schulz.<\/p>\n

Gachagua said the government is keen to work with international partners to strengthen and advance democracy.<\/p>\n

German Ambassador to Kenya Sebastian Growth was also present during the meeting.<\/p>\n

FES is a non-profit foundation funded by the German government for the advancement of democracy, international cooperation, and solidarity.<\/p>\n

“Peace is critical for the growth of the Eastern African region. We will work with FES to ensure that ongoing peace efforts in the region are successful,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We also strongly believe in political parties grounded on clear ideologies. Such well-established parties are good for a strong nation.”<\/p>\n

The DP added that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is founded on a solid and clear ideology of empowering the people through the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).<\/p>\n

Gachagua said he will engage with FES and the Social Democratic Party, (SPD) the oldest political party in Germany to advance the country’s democracy.<\/p>\n
