Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Married women in Kenya have 76 per cent demand for family planning, a Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) report shows. Of the 76 per cent, 14 of the married women have unmet family planning needs.<\/p>\n

According to the report, 62 per cent are currently using family planning. “Women with no education have the lowest level of family planning demand satisfied,” the report showed.<\/p>\n

The report further reveals that nearly all women and men (99 per cent each) have knowledge of modern contraceptive methods. A lower percentage of women and men have knowledge of traditional methods, with 85 per cent of women and 86 per cent of men knowing a traditional method.<\/p>\n

The most well-known modern methods among all women are male condoms 97 per cent, injectables 94 per cent implants 91 per cent and contraceptive pills 91 per cent.<\/p>\n

“While the methods most frequently reported by men are male condoms 99 per cent, injectables 88 per cent, contraceptive pills 84 per cent and implants 80 per cent.”<\/p>\n

The 2022 Kenya Demographic and Health Survey (2022 KDHS) was implemented by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The data collection was done from February 17 to July 31, 2022. The sample for the 2022 KDHS report was drawn from the Kenya Household Master Sample Frame (K-HMSF).<\/p>\n

It was also done through a questionnaire where they used the household questionnaire, the woman\u2019s questionnaire, the man\u2019s questionnaire, and the biomarker questionnaire.<\/p>\n
