Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The High Court has extended orders that suspended the Finance Act 2023 until Monday next week. Justice Mugure Thande will on Monday next week rule on whether she will extend the orders issued pending the hearing and determination of the case.<\/p>\n

Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah and Lawyer Otiende Omollo while submitting in court urged the court to confirm the orders issued on Friday last week. They argued that the state will suffer no harm if the orders are extended and conservatory orders issued.<\/p>\n

However, the CS treasury through lawyer Githu Muigai opposed the application asking the court to set aside the orders. Muigai said the orders if not set aside will bring a budgetary crisis to the government.<\/p>\n
