Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera says the lack of policy and clear framework has affected the successful implementation of the CBC as the country transitions from an 8-4-4 system of education.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What is ailing CBC and implementation of JSS is the lack of policy and clear framework on what needs to be done, by whom and when,&#8221; MP Nabwera told Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>He further says hosting JSS in primary schools will guarantee equalization as it gives learners an opportunity to have the same kind of education whether rich or poor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some schools have received oversupply of resources including millions of shillings and teachers because of categorization whereas others are understaffed some even don\u2019t have TSC teachers,&#8221; the MP lamented.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the MP blamed the government for failing to do enough in terms of planning yet CBC can change the lives of learners if it is well implemented. His Kathiani counterpart Robert Mbui holds the same view as he calls for proper planning to address challenges facing the CBC system of education.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Government must first deal with the issue of curriculum, staffing that involves training of teachers and funding to ensure that the system succeeds,&#8221; Mbui told the House on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The two lawmakers were contributing to a motion by Mbeere South MP Geoffrey Ruku who is calling on the Ministry of Education to develop a comprehensive policy and funding plan for JSS.<\/p>\n<p>Ruku expressed concern that recent government guidelines requiring JSS to be established in select primary schools had caused confusion and rendered classrooms for classes seven and eight redundant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\">Kenya<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya.
