Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>KCB Football Club has appointed Bernard Mwalala as the new head coach, strengthening the technical bench ahead of the 2023\/24 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season. Mwalala’s appointment follows the expiry of Zedekiah Otieno\u2019s contract at the Club.<\/p>\n

Mwalala brings with him a wealth of experience and a strong track record both as a player and as a football coach spanning seven years in local and regional football assignments.<\/p>\n

Mwalala had stints with Nzoia Sugar, Bandari, Kakamega Homeboyz and Ulinzi Stars. He will be assisted by Elvis Ayany (assistant coach), Eric Muranda (trainer) and Samuel Okoth (goalkeeper trainer). Collins Kyama and Michael Oyando will continue with their roles as the team\u2019s physiotherapist and team manager respectively.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, KCB patron Azu Ogola said: \u201cWe are confident that through him, we shall usher in a new era of success for the club with our eyes keen on winning the local league and regional trophies. His vast experience will come in handy in delivering a positive impact on the team’s performance in the various competitions lined up.\u201d<\/p>\n

KCB finished 5th last season. \u201cI am excited by the opportunity, and I am fully committed to building a strong and competitive team that will deliver positive results on the field. I have a plan, we are going for the title next season and beyond,\u201d Mwalala said.<\/p>\n
