Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kenya Under-20 coach, Curtis Olago has said that Chipu will re-strategise before they face Spain on Thursday following a 34-25 loss to Samoa in their opening match of the World Rugby Under-20 Trophy at the Nyayo Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started well but we lost the game in about 10 minutes when we went out of script in the first half. We also allowed Samoa to have the ball more,\u201d Olago said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur plan was to control the pace of the game but you cannot do that when you don’t have the ball,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Stanslaus Shikoli, Wycliffe Otieno, George Otieno and Raphael Wanga scored a try each with Eddy Wambugu and Spencer Davies converting a penalty and a conversion respectively.<\/p>\n

Captain Michael Wamalwa was proud of his team\u2019s effort as they managed to match Samoa in almost ever department. \u201cThe boys played their hearts out and we tried all that we could but unfortunately, we did not get the result that we wanted,\u201d said Wamalwa.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very optimistic going forward as the boys have now had a taste of the level of intensity that is needed in this tournament,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt half time, we realized that Samoa were actually very beatable but time was not on our side as we managed to score two late tries.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on: \u201cLack of experience in the squad played a role in the loss. Majority of the players in the team play in the KRU Championship and Eric Shirley Shield compared to the Samoans who had players that have represented their country in the World Sevens Series,\u201d concluded Wamalwa.<\/p>\n
