Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>UDA national vice chair Hassan Omar has warned the national government will deal firmly with Azimio leaders hell-bent on sabotaging the economy through unwarranted demonstrations.<\/p>\n

Omar accused the Azimio brigade led by ODM chief Raila Odinga of working tirelessly to taint the image of Kenya internationally by creating a non-existence crisis threatens to scare away investors. He called on the security apparatus and intelligence teams to seek and arrest those planning for this week\u2019s demonstrations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are trying to provoke the President to taint the image of Kenya internationally, to create a non-existent crisis so people say there is a problem in Kenya and scare away investors. We will not allow that to happen,\u201d Omar said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI reiterate what the President said, we are not going to allow Azimo to sabotage our economy, we will deal with them firmly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Omar was speaking in Junda, Kisauni constituency, on Saturday after presiding over the launch and empowerment of The Brotherhood, a business venture by UDA supporters from Mombasa county.<\/p>\n

He called on all UDA leaders and supporters to help President William Ruto protect the country, saying that the President\u2019s focus was now on how to turn around the economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI congratulate my brother, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, for the good work he has been doing. I implore our security apparatus and intelligence teams to arrest those organising these demonstrations,\u201d Omar said.<\/p>\n

About nine people died in last Wednesday\u2019s demonstrations across the country. This brings the total to 15 after six people lost their lives during the July 7 Saba Saba Day demos. Raila last week announced a three-day demonstration from Wednesday to Friday, due to what he termed public demand.<\/p>\n

Omar asked Odinga to move on and accept that Ruto won the elections democratically. He said he should give the President time to deliver on his agenda, saying politics will have to wait until 2027.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe won the government democratically, President Ruto did not steal any vote. It was the deep state that was planning to steal votes but we defeated them. Let them know that we won rightfully and we are ready to protect the government,\u201d Omar said.<\/p>\n

The UDA vice chair also sent a strong warning to Azimio leaders in Mombasa led by Mombasa Senator Mohammed Faki not to dare challenge the government, saying they will not be tolerated.<\/p>\n

Faki together with his colleagues and supporters engaged police in running battles for over four hours during Wednesday\u2019s demos. He was joined by Mvita MP Masoud Machele, Badi Twalib (Jomvu), Rashid Bedzimba (Kisauni), Mishi Mboko (Likoni) and Mombasa Woman Representative Zamzam Mohammed.<\/p>\n

They defied the police ban on demonstrations in any part of Mombasa About 24 youths were arrested and later released for participating in an illegal assembly. They said they would be out in the streets next week.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to ask my good friend Senator Faki to think about the Mombasa people, it is not a matter of life and death for Raila to be President. They (ODM) have ruined Mombasa for the last 10 years, we won\u2019t allow that again,\u201d Omar said.. He called on parents urge their children to keep off the demonstrations.<\/p>\n
