Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>A prolific trainer turned coach Jim Tamarack is expected in the country for the 20th edition of the Africa National Baseball Championship. Tamarack, the former professional baseball player and lifetime trainer, is seeking to upscale players in the game.<\/p>\n

He started a program in 2004 and has been jetting in annually for the last two decades in a bid to ensure the equipment donation program running and benefiting worthy players.<\/p>\n

In an interview, his spokesman Geoffrey Kinuthia said Tamarack\u2019s visit aims to extend his venture of providing more equipment to vulnerable communities across different counties in the country.<\/p>\n

The baseball guru is set to visit baseball-centered areas including Makueni, Kilifi, Kajiado, Kiambu, and Nakuru. “Plans are also underway for the ladies’ local team entirely, to prepare effectively ahead of World Cup next year and Tamarack\u2019s visit will play a big role,” Kinuthia added.<\/p>\n

For the league preparations, The Kenya Baseball Federation (KBF) have upscaled preparations for the 2023 editions slotted for July 29-30 at Jomo Kenyatta University of Technology, JKUAT, in Nairobi.<\/p>\n

Baseball players and enthusiasts believe the arrival of Tamarack will play a pivotal role for the teams in the league series. The local league mainly comprises university students and women who benefit largely from the last tournament that attracted baseball supporters. Jim Tamarack is credited with the rise in the number of players, who have embraced the sport.<\/p>\n
