Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kenya under-20 coach Curtis Olago is expected to make changes to the squad ahead of the second match against Spain on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Chipu must win their match against the Spaniards if they harbour ambitions of progressing further in the tournament after losing 34-25 to Samoa in their opening match.<\/p>\n

Spain sent out an ominous warning to the rest of the competition by humiliating Hong Kong China 53-0 to top Pool ‘B’ with five points having secured a bonus point victory. Olago said they had done a review of what went wrong<\/p>\n

“From the analysis of the match on Saturday, we made errors in our one-on-one tackling, defensive alignment, and handling, and if we rectify that I see us winning on Thursday ” he observed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe plan to settle first and find our rhythm early against the Spaniards to avoid committing the same mistakes we made against the Samoans,\u201d said head coach Curtis Olago.<\/p>\n

Two late tries were not enough as Chipu lost 34-25 in their opening match against Samoa on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will have to approach Spain differently from Samoa as different teams call for different tactics,\u201d said Olago.<\/p>\n

Against all odds, Chipu were able to match the Samoans\u2019 physicality for the better part of the match and even went ahead to dominate them in scrums.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are, however, glad that the squad is still at full strength as we did not pick up any injuries on Saturday,\u201d added the KCB head coach.<\/p>\n

Captain Michael Wamalwa strongly believes his side has what it takes to beat Spain come Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is definitely a tough match as Spain is a better side compared to Samoa. However, we have studied their tactics and we know what we need to do to win,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have the urge to win and it has shown in training so far this week as the boys have kept their heads up. We have worked extra hard to correct the mistakes we made on Saturday which were mostly individual,\u201d said Wamalwa.<\/p>\n
