Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has claimed that during former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime, police went to his house looking for firearms.<\/p>\n

Mudavadi said that nobody is above the law and that impunity in the country is something that must end. He was speaking in South Mugiragango, Kisii County where he had attended a women empowerment event alongside President William Ruto.<\/p>\n

“I want to tell the leaders present here that even when Uhuru Kenyatta was the president, the police came to my home looking for firearms. Nobody is above the law,” he said.<\/p>\n

The prime CS said that the police even insisted on checking whether his firearm was properly licensed. “We must all respect the law. They even told me that they wanted to see if I was properly licensed and this is because I was not above the law,” he said.<\/p>\n

This comes after Police Officers on Friday raided the residence of former Uhuru Kenyatta\u2019s eldest son Jomo Kenyatta in Karen. The officers are said to have planned to conduct a search of the house to establish whether there were illegal firearms kept in the residence.<\/p>\n

Uhuru while commenting on the raid condemned the government saying the son is a licensed firearm holder “How many people in Kenya have licensed weapons, even foreigners? Si we followed the procedure. So you withdrew their security so they are not supposed to defend themselves? What more do you want now?” Uhuru asked.<\/p>\n

The former President appealed to the government to settle any political scores with him only instead of roping in his close family members. “My only plea is don’t plan against my mother or my children. Plan for me if it is me you want. What do they have to do with anything,” he said.<\/p>\n
