Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The blue badge verification subscription for Facebook and Instagram is now available in Kenya. The verification called Meta Verified was unveiled by Meta and aims to make it easier for Instagram and Facebook users to build their presence so as to focus on building their communities.<\/p>\n

The verification bundle had been unveiled in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand in May. The global tech company’s new subscription bundle includes account verification with impersonation protections, exclusive features such as stickers and access to increased visibility and support.<\/p>\n

Meta Verified subscription will charge $8(Sh1320) monthly to its users to have the blue verified badge placed against their Instagram and Facebook handles.<\/p>\n

Legible requirements for the service include prior posting activity and being above the age of 18 years old. “A user must also have a public or private profile that is associated with their full government name and have a profile picture,\u201d Meta said.<\/p>\n

To verify, users are required to submit a selfie video, a photo or a scan of their national identification. According to Meta, the number of followers is not a factor to be eligible for the services and once the profile is verified, the user cannot change their personal information without going through the Meta Verified verification process again.<\/p>\n

“The pre-existing verified pages of public celebrities or public figures are still encouraged to apply for the subscription,\u201d Meta said. Meta maintained that there will be no changes to the already verified accounts based on prior requirements.<\/p>\n
