Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>State lodges are places used by the President of Kenya for official and private functions. They are a symbol of the power and prestige of the Kenyan government and are located in scenic and secluded areas.<\/p>\n

Equipped with state-of-the-art security features, State lodges offer a variety of amenities, including swimming pools, tennis courts, and golf courses. Besides Kisii, the others are in Eldoret, Kisumu and Kakamega, with the Sagana one being the most used.<\/p>\n

Initially, Sagana was a royal residence of the British monarchy, considered among the gifts that Kenya had bestowed the late Queen Elizabeth following her wedding to Prince Philip.<\/p>\n

However, when Kenya gained independence in December 1963, the late Queen handed the lodge back to the Kenyan government. Sagana has had a rich history with Kenya\u2019s last three Presidents.<\/p>\n

President Willaim Ruto spent his Sunday evening with his deputy Rigathi Gachagua at Sagana State House Lodge. Just before an Interview with Inooro Tv started , Ruto and Gachagua assisted each other to light a bonfire to warm themselves.<\/p>\n

An indication that it was a cold night, the President and his deputy dressed warmly in Trench coats. Ruto was in a black knee-length trench coat while Gachagua had a brown one.<\/p>\n

The President revealed that he had enjoyed eating roasted maize just before the interview started. He was forced to pause his speech because of coughing.<\/p>\n

” I’m sorry but understand I’m from just eating maize,” Ruto said. Earlier in the day, Ruto held a church service at the State Lodge.<\/p>\n

This is the first time since he was sworn in as President on September 13, 2023 to be at the State Lodge. He was accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife Dorcas Gachagua.<\/p>\n

Other leaders who attended the service are Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Majority Leader Kimani Ichungw’ah among others.<\/p>\n
