Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto has explained why he is on a five days tour in Mt Kenya region.<\/p>\n

Speaking during an interview with Inooro TV, the Head of State said he is in the region for development matters, and to work closely with his friends<\/p>\n

“Kwanza kabisa nimekuja hapa Mt Kenya kutoa shukurani kwani walinishika mkono wakati wa uchaguzi, leo tumekua na ibada, jana nilizuru eneo mbali mbali,” he said.<\/p>\n

This is loosely translated to: First and foremost I’m here to say thank you to the people of Mt Kenya for their support, as you saw, we had a thanksgiving service today and yesterday I visited several places in matters development.<\/p>\n

Ruto also laid out his planned visits to other areas within the region, and development projects the residents should expect.<\/p>\n

On Monday Ruto is expected to commission a road in Mukurwei-ni.<\/p>\n

This event will be succeeded by the launch of water projects in Tetu and Othaya.<\/p>\n

At Nyeri Town, the President will open a bus park that is poised to ease congestion and create a friendly transport environment.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, he will open a new Kenya Co-operative Creameries facility in Kiganjo.<\/p>\n

Thereafter, he will host Mt Kenya leaders at the Sagana State Lodge.<\/p>\n
