Africa-Press – Lesotho. Econet Telecom Lesotho (ETL) held a one day workshop to equip the top 10 artists in the ETL theme song competition with business skills yesterday. These are the artists who won prizes

to the tune of M160 000 in September last year for the ETL theme song competition. ETL Acting Brand and Marketing Communications Manager Lipalesa Mpemi revealed that the competition was to

uplift the artists who were hard done by the advent of Covid-19. She said during the deliberation of the top 10 artists, the panelists identified the gaps which

were to be addressed in the current workshop. Through a press statement ETL indicated that during the theme song top 10 deliberation, the judges identified

a gap- based on their judgement on all the entries received. “There is little knowledge when it comes to different elements/components surrounding the music

industry. This goes down to coming up with a stage name, production of a song, lyrical content, flow and more. Having realized this, Econet decided to have a 1 day

workshop where the judges will share and explain to the candidates everything they need to know about the music industry in order to improve their knowledge

and motivate them as they pursue their talents,” the statement said. According to ETL Theme Song Competition Judge Panelist and Jazz artist Mookho Moqhali, the artists had

demonstrated lack of professional and cooperate skills. She said the workshop aims to address the legal business aspects of the music industry, including the

copyrights and digital marketing. Moqhali noted that in her presentation, she will be addressing business legal aspects of music while Sechaba Mokoqo will be presenting about copyrights and how to upload music on

the digital platforms for accessibility of people beyond the jurisdiction of Lesotho. In exclusive interview with Informative Newspaper ETL Theme Song Competition Third Prize Winner Rethabile Nai

popularly known as Omali Themba expressed gratitude over the opportunity, saying it will contribute a great deal in her growth within the entertainment

industry. ETL had awarded different prizes to the Top 10 finalists where each won life changing gifts. For the top 3 winners, the first prize was a whooping M80, 000. 00, a smart phone and 40 gigabyte (GB)

monthly data each, valid for 12 months. The second prize winners went home with M40, 000. 00, Smart phone and 40 GB monthly data for 12 months, while the third prize winner got M10, 000. 00, a smart phone and 40 GB monthly lasting for 12 months.
