Africa-Press – Lesotho. Nedbank Lesotho donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) amounting to M50 000 to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Roma on Friday, to contribute in the fight against
Covid-19 pandemic. St. Joseph’s Hospital Primary Health Care Director Dr. Kayombo Kambala speaking at the handover ceremony, said the pandemic has devastated people’s lives in a very serious manner.
He noted that more than a million of lives have been lost globally and around 45 people in Lesotho have lost their lives. “The fight against this disease requires joined efforts in
order to achieve our goal of defeating it so that people may return to their normal lives,” he said. Kambala said they appreciate the long standing partnership they have with Nedbank
Lesotho through their donation of PPE especially in this era where the demand is very high and there is lack of PPE around the world. “We were lucky enough
to be the top priority on your list,” he said. Nedbank Roma Branch Manager Pulane Mpota said as Nedbank Lesotho, their clients’ safety and good health is their priority hence Nedbank decided to provide the PPE as a
contribution for their health and safety. “We also like to thank you both St. Joseph Hospital and Roma College of Nursing staff for your contribution and
support as our valued customers,” she said. Nedbank Lesotho Managing Director Nkau Matete said the good work relations that have always existed between Nedbank Lesotho, St.
Joseph’s Hospital and the college is what motivated them to donate to them. He said the donations include sanitizer dispensers, Masks and paper towels.
Matete added that Covid-19 pandemic can only be defeated if they work in concert as a nation. “Health workers are at the fore-front in fighting this pandemic and are in dire need of PPE,” he said.
