Africa-Press – Lesotho. In collaboration with Rotary Club of Maloti, MISA Lesotho, in under its Covid-19 Media Relief Fund (MRF) initiative announced today that it will be handing out Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to all licensed media houses, national newspapers and new agencies.
PPE donations by Rotary Club of Maloti under this initiative will be received by different media houses licensed with the Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA) and are legally operating under the laws of Lesotho.
The Covid-19 MRF was launched in December 2020 and MISA Lesotho has been coordinating the process as it is their initiative aimed at helping local media houses and media practitioners during the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the statement, the media was not spared the effects of the pandemic because some closed down while others cut their staff salaries or benefits. Many practitioners in the field have even lost their jobs.
