Africa-Press – Lesotho. Delegation from Limpopo, South Africa led by the Bapedi Chief Thulare Thulare will visit Lesotho next week to show case their culture.
According to the Minister of Gender, Youth, Sports and Recreation, Dr.
Mahali Phamotse, the two tribes Basotho and Bapedi have always maintained cultural visits.
She said the main celebration of the event will be at Semonkong where these two tribes will showcase their cultures in the presence of King Letsie III.
“The tour from Semonkong will proceed to Thaba Bosiu where visitors will climb the mountain and experience the cultural history of Basotho,” Phamotse said.
Phamotse further revealed that, it is at the same event where girls and women will be empowered through the activities that will be performed.
These include Pitiki where women will have their private moment to share ideas on gender, economy and life skills in general.
She urged Basotho to attend the event as culture plays a vital role in every country’s profile.
She further added that different cultural groups will be given a platform to showcase different cultural activities.
She confirmed the annual event will be held in Limpopo next year.
Before the delegation departures, they will pass by the Royal Palace to pay respect to King Letsie III.
