Africa-Press – Lesotho. Former West Ham winger Saïd Benrahma is facing two charges for owning dangerous dogs after an incident in July 2023 in Hornchurch, East London.
According to The Sun, one of his pets—an XL Bully—allegedly injured a man named Luke Rehbin, while his American Bulldog reportedly attempted to attack him. The Algerian international, who has since joined Neom SC in Saudi Arabia, was absent from his scheduled appearance at Willesden Magistrates’ Court.
Benrahma’s lawyers, contesting the charges, requested a postponement, citing a lack of complete evidence and the need to coordinate with a Monaco-based colleague to reach their client.
The magistrate agreed to defer proceedings, keeping the case under criminal jurisdiction. The player is expected to appear later this month, either in person or via video link. If found guilty, Benrahma risks a fine, imprisonment, a lifetime ban on owning dogs, or even the euthanasia of his pets.
