SADC CYBER DRILL MEETING 2025 OPENS IN MASERU

Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI), Mr Kanono Ramashamole, officially opened the Sixth SADC Cyber Drill and AfricaCERT Meeting 2025 in Maseru.

In his opening address, Mr Ramashamole welcomed delegates from across the SADC region and the African continent, noting that the event demonstrates “our shared vision of a secure, interconnected, and digitally empowered SADC region.”

He highlighted that cybersecurity is not only a technical matter but a developmental priority vital to regional integration, innovation, and Africa’s digital transformation.

The event, which runs from 4th to 7th November 2025, brings together experts from SADC Member States, AfricaCERT, and international partners to strengthen cooperation and cyber resilience through joint exercises and knowledge exchange.
