Africa-Press – Lesotho. In preparation for 2026 Population and Housing Census, the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning through Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday held a sensitization session with the Heads of Departments (HODS) at District Administrator’s premises Hlotse in Leribe.
Addressing the heads, Chief Statistician Mrs. Pauline Bello said the purpose of the meeting is for the HODS to know about the Population and Housing Census which is scheduled for April 2026.
She said their insights and guidance in Census will be valuable in ensuring success as main stakeholders.
She explained that in this regard Leribe will also establish a Publicity Committee through the assistance of District Administrators office.
Mrs. Bello said the Publicity Committee will be responsible for disseminating the information on Census to the communities.
She indicated that the committee has to start it’s operations as soon as possible, saying they are behind time.
