Africa-Press – Lesotho. Maphephe Mothabeng (35) of Motimposo in the district of Maseru appeared before Magistrate Nkhethoa Molapo charged with contravening Section 58(f) of Police Service Act No.7 of 1988.
As per the charge sheet, the said accused on November 25, 2025 at Motimposo in the district of Maseru unlawfully and intentionally assaulted police constable Phekola by hitting him with a stone on the left knee of his foot while in the execution of his duty.
Magistrate Molapo adviced the accused about his right to bail and legal representation.
The prosecutor in this case told the court that the crown would not oppose bail.
While applying for bail, Mothabeng stated that he is not married and he is self-employed.
The court granted him bail of M350.
The accused is remanded to December 09, 2025
