Molemane Gravel Road Project Set for Full Upgrade

Africa-Press – Lesotho. Local councilor Mr. Phaphathi Phohlo, on Tuesday said Molemane residents in Teyateyaneng Berea are expected to see improved road access within the next year, as a gravel road project launched last year enters the final phase.

During an interview with the agency, Mr Phohlo said the ongoing works form part of a long-term infrastructure plan aimed at improving access to transportation in the area.

He further elaborated that once the gravel works are fully completed, the road will be tarred.

“The project started last year and was planned to run for two years. We now have one year remaining,” Mr. Phohlo said

Addressing concerns regarding employment opportunities linked to the project, Mr. Phohlo highlighted that he could not provide the exact number of people who have been employed since the recruitment process was handled by the council.

The improved road will benefit access to residents of Molemane, St. Agnes area, and other nearby villages, making travel safer, faster and more reliable.

It will also support access to schools and local trade and allow quicker emergency response. The project has created temporary jobs, and it is expected to boost economic growth and connectivity in the area.
