Africa-Press – Lesotho. Qoboso Mafoso (33) of Thaba-Bosiu appeared before Magistrate Lebusa Ts’osane charged with the murder of Moeketsi Thejane.
The said accused is charged with contravening the provisions of section 40 (1) and (2) read section 109 of the Penal code Act No.6 of 2010 (murder)
Mafoso on April 04, 2026 at Liolong in the district of Maseru unlawfully and intentionally assaulted Moeketsi Thejane by beating him with a stick on his body and inflicting serious injuries that caused his death.
Magistrate Ts’osane informed the accused about his right to bail and legal representation.
The accused was told to apply for bail in the High Court as Magistrate Court is not responsible to grant bail on such a crime.
The accused will appear in court on April 21, 2026.
