Africa-Press – Lesotho. In an effort to ease payment processes for its clients, Alliance Insurance has collaborated with Chaperone Limited which is a mobile money platform, dubbed “C-Pay”.
The platform is available on all local networks. Speaking on behalf of Alliance Insurance management at the press briefing, Palesa Mapuru said the C-pay mode will help their clients to avoid long queues.
She added that it comes at an appropriate time when the Covid-19 pandemic has taken over the normal routine of life, compelling the nations to adopt to digital solutions.
Client Services Officer Lipuo Sehloho urged Basotho to support this product as it is owned by Basotho. She noted that C-Payment, as the name denotes, will be used across the ten
Lesotho districts, adding that it creates convenience for clients who will not have to go to Alliance offices. “I am impressed that we are moving to e-commerce platforms, most importantly this product is invented by young people,”
Sehloho said. Meanwhile, Chaperone Marketing Agent Karabo Nkolenyana indicated that Chaperone Limited is owned by Basotho shareholders and is regulated by the Central Bank of Lesotho.
She stated that the C-Pay is now operating in Maseru, Mafeteng, Mohale’s Hoek and Qacha’s Neck and it is yet to extend to other districts. She stated that the registration
is free and one can download C-Pay application from google store or approach the nearest C-Pay agent to load money. “This platform enables one to send and
receive money, buy airtime for all mobile networks, make payments for electricity, insurance – including Alliance Insurance and piece job service provider,” Nkolenyana stated. She mentioned that C-Pay has 245 agents and 30 merchants across Lesotho.
