Africa-Press – Lesotho. Alliance Insurance Company and Lesotho Post Bank (LPB) introduced an upgraded premium payment system through Khetsi agents. The upgraded premium system will see Alliance Insurance funeral policy holders pay
their monthly insurance premiums using Khetsi. LPB Representative ‘Mamohau Mapota explained that LPB developed digital platforms which encompassed Mobile and Internet Banking in 2017 while Khetsi mobile
wallet was introduced as a new product in 2019. “Khetsi is our mobile wallet that enables one to access bank services, save or transfer their money,” she
said. Mapota further said LPB has made innovative improvements to satisfy the business sector in all possible ways. She said Khetsi has agents across the
country to enable people to transfer or withdraw their money wherever they are. She said Khetsi agents were only offering transfers and withdrawals hence they
decided to upgrade and implement premium payment service. Mapota said, Alliance Insurance Company was attracted by the new Khetsi services and that called for
this partnership. She indicated that the development is going to cut long queues at the company, a move that aligns with the World Health Organization (WHO) regulations to curb the Covid-19.
Alliance Insurance Company Chief Financial Officer Mohapinyane Taole said the relationship is basically to improve the future of Basotho just as the insurance company’s motto states; ‘Always there for Basotho’.
Taole added that the insurance company employees work very hard to ensure that Basotho enjoy their local products. “Alliance group has broadened its services to protecting
Basotho’s assets and businesses. This partnership is another step in the right direction, ensuring peace of mind for its clients,” he said. He pointed out that the company aims to also help give services to Basotho living
in the highlands. He said when LPB launched Khetsi mobile wallet, they were very excited to realize that this is a good opportunity for them to reach Basotho living in the highlands through Khetsi.
He said from now onwards, their clients will easily access their services through the platform. LPB Chief Sales Officer ‘Mathabo Tšehlo said the two companies are the local brands that collaborated to extend their services to Basotho everywhere. She said their goal is to give back to Basotho in order to ease their lives.
