LNBS RECEIVES TELECOMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT

The Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology on Friday received 18 computers, 4 laptops and 11 tablets from the Alliance Insurance Company, at the event held in Maseru.

When receiving the equipment, the Minister of Communications, Science and Technology, Mr. Keketso Sello expressed his gratitude to the Alliance Insurance Company, saying he is humbled by this gesture as this will enable the Lesotho National Broadcasting Service (LNBS) to move forward and reach its mandate.

Mr. Sello said he is pleased that Alliance has identified his ministry to be one of their strategic partners as this equipment will allow Basotho to be more informed regarding the current affairs of the nation.

The Minister urged LNBS staff to ensure that this equipment is preserved and protected so that it will benefit the ministry.

Speaking on behalf of Alliance Insurance Company, the Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Taole Mohapinyane said the event marks the continuation of his company’s relationship with LNBS to help LNBS achieve its objective of broadcasting internationally.

Mr. Mohapinyane added that over the years, their company had provided LNBS with motor vehicles but this year the LNBS management requested for computers, laptops and tablets hence the event.

He expressed hope that this equipment will be useful as LNBS will be able to broadcast during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also speaking at the event, LNBS acting Director-General, Ms. Mothepane Kotelo thanked the Alliance Insurance Company for this donation.

Ms. Kotelo added that the equipment will be used by News anchors and reporters at LTV, Radio Lesotho and Ultimate Radio.

Previously, Alliance Insurance Company donated a quantum and Avanza.
