MINISTER TOURS NEW TRAFFIC PREMISES

The Minister of Transport, Mr. Tŝoeu Mokeretla on Thursday toured the new Ministry of Traffic Building premises located at Ha Foso in the Berea district.

The new building comprises of all the ministry’s departments like Interpol, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) as well as a fully-fledged police station which will operate 24 hours a day.

When addressing the staff and people who came for services, Mr. Mokeretla said he is happy to welcome everyone where all services concerning the Ministry of Traffic will be offered.

He further noted that the one-stop-shop initiative is one of the ministry’s mandates to improve service delivery, adding that they are working tirelessly to invent online registration of vehicles which he said will help them avoid overcrowding especially during this time of COVID-19.

He, therefore, urged the ministry’s employees to work hard and show dedication as this will help them avoid long queues. He further appealed to Basotho who come for services at the ministry to be patient and cooperative.

In conclusion, the Minister said it is everyone’s responsibility to keep the premises clean.

The new ministry’s offices which are expected to officially be launched by the Prime Minister started operating on 30 November.
