They engage youth in life skills and counselling sessions which help them to boost<\/p>\n<p>self-confidence, fight peer pressure and other teenage challenges. Footprints of Hope Founder and Director Lintle Letsika highlighted that psychosocial<\/p>\n<p>support helps people develop inner strength and know their weakness. She says their counselling sessions put more emphasis on self discovery, human potential, and development of a strong and healthy sense of self.<\/p>\n<p>This helps them to explore their feelings and find purpose and meaning of their lives. \u201cOur young people are vulnerable as a result of having lost their parents, some have<\/p>\n<p>lost one or two parents in the aftermath of HIV\/AIDS. This is the generation that is growing up without nurturing, support and parental guidance and that<\/p>\n<p>says even their career guidance will be challenged. Our objective is to instil within the youth the essential life skills and empower them with self-awareness.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completion our desire is for our youth to have learned how to manage relationships and tackle different life challenges,\u201d she noted. She added; \u201cWe have our lessons every Saturday here at our centre, where we have a<\/p>\n<p>group of teenagers from 11 to 18 years and another group of above 18 to 35 years that is also meeting on the similar life skills topics, but with focus to their<\/p>\n<p>different levels. We also have young mothers who had children out of marriages and some who have come out of marriage. They also discuss life skills depending on their level of challenges.
