Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>A native of Thaba-Tseka district, Mr Reabetsoe Rasoeu popularly known as Ree Given (Ntate Kwata) on the \u2018music circle\u2019 announces a new hip hop album coming out on December 12 next year.<\/p>\n

Rasoeu, who is currently digging for firearms in Mafeteng district, has developed a keen interest in music based on stories told by his parents. He says this interest was due to his constant association with \u2018koriana\u2019 musicians.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy talent began to dwindle at the age of fourteen (14). My parents also played a big role as they sang \u2018religious music\u2019 and we sang with my three siblings. That’s why I sing religious music, “Rasoeu said. He says he joined the music scene in 2017 with the intention that it is the right platform where he can express himself easily.<\/p>\n

He further explained that the spark of religious music has been brought about by many tragic events, and he therefore recognizes that religious music can be a source of great comfort to traumatic events and a rebuke of crime.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2019 I released a ‘religious’ and’ my ‘tears album’ with ten songs.<\/p>\n

The album coming up on December 12, 2020 will be the second but first hip hop, \u2018and it is called; \u2018Lack of parents\u2019 – you too will have wrapped up ten songs, \u201dNtate Kwata explains.<\/p>\n

This year, Ree Given has released four (4) singles; \u2018As long as mmaraby antsa survival\u2019, \u2018Lesotho lion\u2019, \u2018cross the stick\u2019 and \u2018power\u2019 which came out on 16 September. He pointed out that this year has been very difficult as it was difficult to find the money to publish \u2018music\u2019.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Voice of the Nation, Rasoeu thanked the government for its efforts to open up the entertainment industry, saying it would go a long way in enabling musicians to earn a living and meet basic needs.<\/p>\n

“I intend to work hard to ensure that music is available in neighboring South Africa as well as in other southern African countries (SADC),” he said enthusiastically. He adds that he sells his music and advertises it online.<\/p>\n
