Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Qoaling residents are deeply concerned about the rising tide of feminism in their community, and this keeps women in a state of shock at all times. Qoaling Local Government Candidate MCC08 Ms’ Mat\u0161ola Masenkane reports that more than five women have been killed in the area since the beginning of the year, saying the killings are aimed at young women as well as those in their late teens.<\/p>\n

“It appears the suspects in the brutal killings are young men between the ages of 23 and 25,” he said.<\/p>\n

Masenkane further explained that the cause of the killings was often an emotional exchange between people in romantic relationships, and that women were killed by criminals who wanted money and looted people’s property.<\/p>\n

He says there is also a dispute over land ownership, and people end up being killed because they are not satisfied with the solutions provided by the courts.<\/p>\n

Masenkane said, among other things, they were being targeted by ineffective street lights as criminals took advantage of the darkness of the area. \u201cThis is where they end up taking lives for granted.<\/p>\n

There is also the theft of bigotry where houses are ransacked and rented and people are robbed, \u201dsaid Masenkane, who is deeply concerned. According to the King of Qoaling, Ms’ Mataelo Matsoso, among the crimes in the city, the killings of women are very high, he said, however, there is also car theft and batteries.<\/p>\n

He said people were also killed because of the demand for money. Threats have been pointed out that in the report of a woman killed in the Gulf, who was about 53 or 54 years old, it sounds like the killers were \u2018strong financially.<\/p>\n

These are the killers that the community took the law into their own hands, and burned them to death. In an interview with Voice of the Nation, one of the residents of Qoaling, Ms Puleng Mokheseng, said that these actions kept them living in peace.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is very sad to see the suspects arrested but quickly released from custody, granted bail or released without a trial.<\/p>\n

We are afraid that they will continue to kill women because they see the court rulings are less, and they are not afraid to repeat these acts, \u201dMokheseng said.<\/p>\n

Matsoso appeals to the government to set up a police station in Qoaling to reduce the rate of crime in the area, saying the presence of links is not enough as crime is on the rise.<\/p>\n

“We are hopeful that with no police station soon crime will be reduced,” he concluded.<\/p>\n
