Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Lineo Matlakala makes her first appearance as an author with her recent book publication; \u2018Tales of a Barren Woman\u2019. Matlakala is a well-known Human Rights Activist who has devoted her life into advocating for the rights of women and girls, following her personal nightmarish experience with nannies growing up.<\/p>\n

She has created several blocks on social media where stories of abuse are shared and victims are advised and accompanied for action against violence. Among the blocks, Matlakala runs the most engaging page on Facebook \u2013 Stories from your everyday girl \u2013 where she shares insights on short fictional stories that range from drama to romance.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview with Informative Arts&Lifestyle the former National University of Lesotho (NUL) graduate who pursued a Degree in Sociology indicated that the book shares a journey of two women who were struggling with infertility and it also shows medical, cultural, religious and the mental effects that surround this \u201chardship\u201d of unfruitfulness.<\/p>\n

She said its declaration follows a number of stories which she pronounced earlier this year during the lockdown as she heard adequate time to do most of the writing.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Matlakala said she normally release one story in a month due to inadequate time to engaging in writing stories. \u201cThe fundamental aim of the book is to educate people about infertility and the negative impression it has on people who have difficulty of bearing children.<\/p>\n

I am trying to give support to people who are experiencing sterility as that makes them not to live a better life,\u201d she implied. The upcoming author who is a resident of Hlotse in Leribe district signified that she commenced writing in March 2020 and thereby launched \u2018Tales of a Barren Woman\u2019 on 30 October.<\/p>\n

She says she obtained influence through the love of writing which emanated from things that are of effect to many people\u2019s lives so as to create awareness and teach people about issues which may be of the nation\u2019s concern and bringing solutions to the problems which are encountered by women.<\/p>\n

Matlakala indicated that she gets inspiration from the authors like Dudu Busani-Dube and Nelly Page as she likes their style of writing which brings the reader\u2019s imagination closer to the occurrences across the world, with that she says she gets reflection of the real occurrences within the book she reads. She said she also admires reading African Literature stories.<\/p>\n
