Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Transport, through the \u2018Department of Road Safety\u2019 and Maluti Mountain Brewery (MMB) donated equipment including 31 Breathalyzers, 300 hats and two speed cameras to the Lesotho police.<\/p>\n

The Chief of Police, Mr Holomo Molibeli, said at the reception that it would help them see that Basotho lives are safe on the roads. He went on to say that with it they would be able to identify drivers who were driving under the influence of alcohol.<\/p>\n

He asserted that his confession had been obtained through torture, and that his confession had been obtained through torture. Molibeli said they also received equipment that will help them when the driver is driving at a higher speed and be able to see that the top speed is standard.<\/p>\n

Mr Nkekeletse Makara, Director of the Department of Roads, said that as a department, they were involved in road accidents and that was why they found it necessary to report the matter to the police. Makara explained that there would also be training for police officers where they would be trained to use speed cameras.<\/p>\n

“We expect to see this product implemented on our roads and the beauty of it is that it will eliminate the bad practice of self-indulgence on the streets here, which is the cause of road accidents,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Transport, Hon. White Mokeretla, says that many diseases and road accidents in the country are caused by high speed and alcohol abuse and the purpose of these goods is to save lives.<\/p>\n

Mokeretla went on to say that the main objective of the traffic department is to maintain road control in the country and not those who have found it beneficial to supply the goods.<\/p>\n

He explained that MMB had added one of the 30 Breathalyzers they had purchased, adding that 300 hats and two speed cameras were also provided. “The expectation is that they will continue to increase as long as the police use them properly,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Police, Hon. He also requested that they be provided with Police uniforms from the department so that when they stand on the streets here they use the equipment and look good.<\/p>\n
