Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Vodacom Lesotho (VCL) in partnership with the Premier League Management Committee (PLMC) introduced new web-based live streaming platform called Vodacom Live.<\/p>\n

This collaboration was an extension of the three- year league sponsorship agreement that began with the 2020\/21 season where VCL and Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) signed M8.3 million league sponsorship agreement at the end of 2020, making the telecommunications giant the headline sponsor of the elite soccer league, now known as the Vodacom Premier League (VPL), under the custodianship of the PLMC.<\/p>\n

In a press release dated April 14, Vodacom Live was disclosed as a simple and inexpensive way for Vodacom subscribers to watch live VPL matches on their devices.<\/p>\n

It was added that the platform will allow soccer fans who are unable to travel to stadiums to experience the action as it happens at only M10 per match for both prepaid and post-paid customers.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, it was illustrated that customers who utilize the platform will use that M10 for the whole match without them having to incur any additional data costs.<\/p>\n

Commenting on new offering, Executive Head of Consumer Business Unit (CBU) T\u0161epo Thabisi noted that the introduction of Vodacom Live will benefit the premier league teams financially because VCL and PLMC had agreed on a revenue-sharing model that will see a portion of the total revenue generated from this platform shared equally among the sixteen participating teams.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very delighted as PLMC and grateful to finally get this soccer live streaming platform on board.<\/p>\n

We certainly hope this initiative will propel our football forward and bring financial spinoffs as we further make inroads towards professionalizing our football. Now we have an alternative to watch our teams live if we cannot physically make it to the grounds,\u201d added PLMC Chairman Mosa Zane Seoli.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Informative Sport, Vodacom Corporate Communications Specialist Thato Mochone highlighted that Vodacom Live is not an App but a web-based streaming where soccer fans can watch live matches.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the advancement of technology, we have seen the introduction of smart TV, any smart\/data capable device will allow customers to watch the match \u2018Kae kapa Kae\u2019\u201d, Mochone said.<\/p>\n
