Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Ever wondered why our politicians vehemently resisted pressure to legalise prostitution? Muckraker knows why. They feared competition because they have been prostituting for years in parliament.<\/p>\n

They legalised their prostitution under the guise of floor crossing. Yet we all know that a political prostitute is worse than a sex worker. Political prostitutes pretend to be doing it for their \u2018constituencies\u2019 while sex workers are clear that they are doing it to earn money.<\/p>\n

Sex workers don\u2019t get voted for while political prostitutes do. Unlike sex work, political prostitution has serious consequences for the country. Sex workers don\u2019t topple governments.<\/p>\n

It is because of political prostitution that this country has been spending millions on elections as if it\u2019s some form of investment. As Muckraker writes this some politicians are thinking of defecting to another party.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s political whoring galore. A festival of political Jezebels. Some have lost count of the political beds they have slept in. One day they are congressing and the next they are nationaring.<\/p>\n

Next week they are revolutionaring. The pimps are working overtime. That is why Muckraker raises her glass for the people who drafted the constitutional amendments now in parliament.<\/p>\n

Someone had the wisdom to sneak in a clause that limits floor crossing. The clause says an MP who crosses the floor within three years will have to vacate their seat and there will be a by-election in their constituency.<\/p>\n

It says after three years MPs have a fifteen-day window period for floor crossing. No MP can cross until the Speaker has opened the window. Once that window is closed, MPs who cross would have to subject themselves to a by-election process.<\/p>\n

If this clause is the work of a politician then it was a rare moment of genius. Bravo! Muckraker is however appealing to the MPs to find it in their stone hearts and shallow minds to add one more clause that limits the number of times an MP can cross the floor in their political career.<\/p>\n

Limit it to one because anything more than that shows the kind of confusion that should never afflict an MP. Once is a change of mind but twice or thrice means you are a confused cockroach.<\/p>\n

Such Aumanenism should be banned. And there is a name for those MPs who do it. They are called Sekatlists. The synonyms are Tsatsanyinist and Mahapist. Use what tickles your fancy. If you cross more than four times you are Sara, the village prostitute that anyone can ride.<\/p>\n
