Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>There was a vaccination of cattle, donkeys and horses in the village of Ha Nyenye, Maputsoe on Wednesday last week, where the animals are thought to have contracted smallpox. The suspicion is that the disease is caused by frequent heavy rains these days.<\/p>\n

Maputsoe Local Government candidate Mr Mahlapholane Rantsoti says since the torrential rains, there has been a lot of damage in villages and homes where houses have collapsed, saying roads are damaged and animals are dying.<\/p>\n

He explained that in the past few months he had received several reports from cattle ranchers lamenting their pets dying of smallpox. \u201cThis smallpox is caused by a lot of green matter caused by heavy rains and today we decided to get a vaccine to prevent cattle owners from losing their livestock.<\/p>\n
