LNIG Managing Director Ralitapole Letsoela when handing over the vehicle said it will help police to be more responsive to crime related activities. He said the vehicle will also allow the police to maintain peace and stability in communities. Letsoela said the police are mandated to ensure peace, stability, security and protection to people and their properties. \u201cLNIG does almost the same the only difference is that we protect personal property, health, financial security, livelihoods, economic and commercial interest,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said they have a very good working relationship with the police hence they pursued the need to assist the department. Police Commissioner Holomo Molibeli said the LMPS has a huge challenge of shortage of vehicles which also hinders the police from carrying out their duties. \u201cThis has also caused the nation to lose trust in us. They think the police are not helping at all because we are not responding quickly enough to crime related activities,\u201d he said. Molibeli advised the members of police stationed at PTC to take great care of the vehicle. He also thanked the LNIG for the gift. Meanwhile the Minister of Police and Public Safety Hon. \u2018Mamoipone Senauoane said shortage of vehicles is a huge challenge to the institution. She said the police are supposed to attend to incidents on time and without resources they are unable to.
